you always remember your firsts in life. i remember the first time in elementary school that my report card was going to to have a’s and b’s instead of s’s and s pluses. i was in the third grade. i brought home straight a’s and raced home to collect my paycheck. (i had heard my friends at school talking about how their parents were paying top dollar for each ‘a’ they brought home and i couldn’t wait to cash in.) i was going to buy these beautiful and quite frankly irresistible pink, lee press on nails from the local convenient store that i had been eyeing. my mom hugged me and told me she was proud but never reached for her wallet. she then proceeded to tell me that the good grades were my reward and that i should polish my nails pink instead. um, so not the same. well, ayden was the first shoot i ever did after my blog went up and i was open for business. i had been taking pictures and classes for awhile at that point but he made me official. i feel like for that reason he seems extra special to me and i always love taking his picture. i have loved watching him grow. he’s 6 months now and as cute as ever.

i love the way pictures look when you add a little texture
