i want to curl up in the love of this family and on some days when the stars align, i get to. their love is safe and comfortable. really comfortable, like how i imagine a snuggie would feel. (btw, i am NOT hinting around for a christmas gift. i repeat, i do NOT want a snuggie under my tree, santa.) there’s no dress code with them. they want you to come as you are. total freedom. total acceptance. their family places little value on personal space. it’s my favorite thing about them. they look at you intently when you’re talking and reach out and touch your am as you share your heart with them. it’s their nonverbal communication that makes you feel most loved. the way that it seems as though being with you was the thing they most wanted to to today. the way they love has rubbed off on their three children as well. they’re like little twinkies. all yellow haired and spongey, soaking in all of the love around them and ooey gooey sweet in their middles. they invited us to the mountains with their family where we shared life with them for a couple of days. a couple of lazy, mountain air, grace filled, fireplace burnin’, red wine drinking, splendid days.
