made by emily {giveaway!}

i have a slight obsession with aprons as you may remember from here. my friend emily has her own little etsy shop where her vibrant color choices and delicious fabrics make for some serious swooning by yours truly. she loves what she does, i love what she does, and you will too.

in her words: in the past few years i’ve discovered that i love to sew. it’s relaxing, creative, has a final product – things I need or desire on a daily basis. i love being able to give handmade gifts that i know someone will use and enjoy . . . and when i started sewing aprons a few years ago it was from that framework. my favorite store on earth is mary jo’s cloth store . . . i go there just to walk around sometimes after a stressful day at work. i love fabrics and experiencing the transformation of a yard of fabric into something fun and functional. all of the aprons and oven mitts that i make are from designer fabrics that i am drawn to for their bold and/or contrasting patterns or colors. i get excited when i purchase new fabrics and have new ideas for things to sew and create. ~ emily

all you have to do to be entered is to go hereĀ madebyemily.etsy.com and feast your eyes on all of the goodies in her shop. leave a comment on my blog with your favorite item by midnight on saturday, february 13th and on valentine’s day this sweet treat could be yours!

So I love the lime green & teal paisley oven mitt…it goes with my new dining room colors :) I also really like the daisy chain apron…same colors! Emily really does a beautiful job!

Melissa - February 12, 2010 - 10:56 am

I love your aprons! I think my favorite is the chocolate brown with blue dots.

lacy - February 12, 2010 - 9:38 am

with the free spirit apron, i am certain to be in-style this summer…not just for it’s vibrant colors and fun loving pattern, but my commitment to bring it to great use…you see, i am no baker, cook nor pastery chef, but a spunky girl always looking for a laugh…and i do like to save a buck by conserving energy…isn’t that the buzz-word these days? so, like i said, this summer, i am certain to be an energy-conscious-fashionista while i don the free spirit apron as my staple uniform to garner a hearty laugh from my lucky-ish husband!

ps: pick me, pick me! remember, hubby clark is the REAL winner!

Renee - February 12, 2010 - 9:03 am

I’m a pink girl, so I’m loving the full pink apron with apple green pockets! :)

Kelly Campbell - February 12, 2010 - 9:02 am

Nothing like a giveaway to encourage a first blog comment! You’re photography is awesome…and so are the blue and green burp cloths!

Nikki B. - February 11, 2010 - 10:42 pm

I don’t think I can pick just one, they’re all so great! If I had to pick one, it would the red polka dotted apron, super cute. What every aspiring cook needs!

Courtney Leach - February 11, 2010 - 10:39 pm

I LOVE the burp cloths! The colors are bright, but not too busy. I am always carrying one around for my 7 month old, and what a bonus if they are pretty– to clean up all the spit-up :) I am impressed and will keep in mind for gift-giving ideas!

Tricia - February 11, 2010 - 10:29 pm

Ohhh – I go through aprons like crazy around here! And the girls INSIST on wearing their own when I’m baking. I can’t get them washed and back in the drawer fast enough… my favorite is the one on your blog, too. But – my girls would ADORE the Full Pink on etsy. Sign me up for mini versions if she ever starts making them :)

annie - February 11, 2010 - 10:07 pm

oh, how does one choose between the amy tan and the star paisley?!?! After ruing a few too many shirts with tomato sauce, i’m thinking this might totally come in handy. And how absolutely beautiful are they?!?!

Michelle - February 11, 2010 - 10:01 pm

They are all adorable…because I am a paisley kind of girl- green Star Paisley for me please.

Kristie - February 11, 2010 - 9:42 pm

Emily’s items are absolutely adorable! My fav is the Full Pink Apron with Apple Green Pockets – perfect to wear while making my weekly batch of applesauce! And the full pink apron means my hubby won’t be stealing it to shield himself from his newest grill creation!

Becca - February 11, 2010 - 9:30 pm

all of them are so cute — i really like the lime green and teal paisley oven mitts.

Candice {The Beautiful Mess} - February 11, 2010 - 9:24 pm
Sarah - February 11, 2010 - 9:19 pm

Everthing is so cute! too bad I don’t need any cute burp cloths… so I would say oven mitt – all patterns are adorable… but the aprons are so cute, too… Watching Bree on DH makes me want to wear aprons more often :)

Nikki - February 11, 2010 - 8:55 pm

I don’t cook a whole lot, so I have never worn an apron. Poor Mark!! but I sure do love those turtle burp clothes! LOL!!

Shelley - February 11, 2010 - 8:42 pm

I can’t resist an opportunity to win an Emily Brown original! I love all of her work. I’d say my fav is AB Tan & Mustard polka dot, with the Grey Snow Flower as a very close second! And it goes without saying that I ADORE every photo on this blog! Thank you God for giving my sweet friends such a special talent!

allison - February 11, 2010 - 8:37 pm

if i have to choose…so hard to do, but i’m going with the plum sugar snap full apron.

Jenne - February 11, 2010 - 8:13 pm

I love that they are all handmade, and by someone you know & love. I would have to choose the lime green teal paisley oven mitt, but the aprons are great also!

Lauren M - February 11, 2010 - 7:51 pm

I don’t own an apron but if I did it would be one of these. They are so much fun!! I like the one you have featured even though it’s not on her site. If I were choosing from the site it would have to be the “Amy Butler Tan and Mustard Polka Dot Full Apron” I like the contrast of plain on patterned. And I love your blog Jen!!

Rhonda15j@gmail.com - February 11, 2010 - 7:51 pm

My oven mitts are embarrassing! They need to be thrown out immediately!! So I LOVE the lime green and teal paisley one!!!

Marcia - February 11, 2010 - 7:42 pm

Ooooh! These are so sassy! I really like the Full Pink Apron with Apple Green Pockets. If I win, I will surely have to find a great cupcake recipe to try out while donning the cuteness!

Lauren M - February 11, 2010 - 7:33 pm

Free Spirit Green and Blue Medallions Full Apron would be my fav. I love that big bold pattern! And I need a new apron! My old one will be too big soon!

Sandy - February 11, 2010 - 7:26 pm

Oh Jen -I love your blog and and I love contests and I love those Aprons! I would be happy with any but today I think my favorite would be the Amy Butler Tan and Mustard Polka Dot Full Apron

amyp - February 11, 2010 - 7:07 pm

seriously?! i have to choose one favorite. impossible. well the free spirit green caught my eye…the name and the fun pattern of course. and the plum sugar and red polka dot are fun too. and of course the birp cloths are fun. i mean-who doesn’t want something fun to barf on!? i know Charis does!

stephanie - February 11, 2010 - 7:01 pm

Amy Butler Tan and Mustard Polka Dot Full Apron…….so if i don’t win the other one, jennifer you are welcome to wrap this number up for my next box- or easter- whichever you’d prefer. these are so pretty-

Chap Moore - February 11, 2010 - 7:00 pm

Jane would love the Daisy Chain!

Jennifer Briggs - February 11, 2010 - 6:52 pm

I must say…I have had my eye on the Plum Sugar Snap Full Apron for a while…but the one you picture here I think I like better and I don’t see it on her etsy site! It would be a little unfair of me to win, since I won an oven mit (which I use EVERY day) from her in December…but a girl can dream, right????
